Defence Minister’s meeting with his Israeli counterpart

As part of the official visit paid by the Romanian Prime Minister, to the State of Israel and Palestine, over 3rd to 4th November, defense minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă met with Benjamin Gantz, Vice Prime Minister and defense minister within Netanyahu-Gantz Rotational Government of the State of Israel.

The main topics approached were the security situation in the Black Sea and The Mediterranean, enhancement of defence cooperation, joint training as well as the continuation of the Romania- Israeli political military dialogue.

The Romanian official emphasized the increased level of bilateral cooperation between the two states in the field of defence and the opportunities generated with a view of consolidating the current relations in the field.

“We reached a high level of cooperation, which is also reflected in the defence strategic dialogue. Romania is committed to continue and strengthen political military cooperation relations with the State of Israel within the current frameworks”, minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă stated during the meeting with Vice Prime Minister Gantz.

Another topic approached was bilateral cooperation in the field of defense and medicine, especially on the technical-military segment. In this context, the Romanian party addressed an official invitation to its Israeli counterparts in order to participate in a new edition of the International Exhibition Black Sea Defense & Aerospace – BSDA 2021, dedicated to the defense, security and aeronautical industry.
